The Holidays are here!
I met with our association today- Greater Rochester Bed and Breakfast Association. Seven impressive women – all running successful B&B’s and Inns in the Rochester area. I have the pleasure of running this group as President. We met for lunch today – gift exchange – funny stories to share about the differences and sometime similarities of each others lives and businesses. We always talk about writing a book together one day…but we are all too busy to do it! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year out there!
OK- so heres the deal…there are things that go bump in the night here. Nothing terrible – just the occational little Casper here and there. Recently Mike OBrien, The Getaway Guy on Cable TV contacted me to do a piece on us. Quite the experience. It took two times filming to get it to take – not surprising I suppose! Even the physic that came with him said what I already knew was true (having lived here for so many years now). Boo…have a very spooky Halloween!
Somehow, I woke up this morning and it was August. Where is the summer going?
The Inn and cottage have had an incredible summer – so busy that it was just the 4th of July!
Lots of brides, lots of parents, lots of business people…
The college help is getting ready to go back to school…I will miss them. So Fall is almost here…
How DID that happen?
Rochester is an incredible place to be! Especially when the sun shines – no matter what season is here (yes, even our winters are beautiful – if not a BIT too long…). Yesterday was cold, wet and gloomy – today is warm and sunny! I’ll take it! Now that it is May – the Inn is coming alive with the Lilac Festival coming up, lots of college graduations that bring those proud parents, and the brides…
OK – so I know that rain is needed for my gardens to grow! But THIS much rain is just crazy! We managed to get the new English ‘Knot’ garden in (literally between the drops) and it looks great! MUCH more to come if the weather gets a little warmer…stay tuned!

With Spring comes Brides! Over this past few years, we have had the pleasure of hosting some amazing elopements, in some pretty incredible places!
July 4th has come and gone and the summer just began! Wow – what a whirlwind this has been. Before you know if the college parents will be back and the ‘lazy’ days of summer will be a distant memory…The cottage is open, we are loving that, and so are our guests! Lovely warm afternoons beside the river – a friendly blue heron that flys by on the search of his nightly ‘sushi’. Just amazing to watch.
